Breast Cancer Detection Based on Multi-Slotted Patch Antenna at ISM Band

The present work designed and investigated a 3D basic model for breast cancer detection at the ISM band. consists of two multi-slotted rectangular patch antennas three-layer phantom containing tumors. A antenna was 2.45 GHz using CST STUDIO SUITE 2018, where simulated results showed return loss better than -35 dB attended more 77 MHz bandwidth. diagnosis approach is based on exploiting electrical properties (frequency dependent) tissues, i.e., mass density, relative permittivity, conductivity. Once proposed slotted radiates electromagnetic signals toward (with without tumors), radiation in terms scattering parameters (S11 S21), field, power flow, current density were altered. As result, values these increased when tumors implanted inside model, informing presence cancerous tissues. Moreover, specific absorption rate (SAR) estimated as function input powers, set low SAR compared to IEEE standard 1.6 W/kg, validating its potential use diagnosing purposes. indicated prospective (in first instance) detect multiple which could be challenging task single-element antenna, ultimate goal realize compact array multi-tumors.
